Volunteers required for the journal system

Dear authors/ supporters,

Best wishes from Integrated Publishing Association team,

We would like to take the pleasure of informing you all that day by day our journal system are growing rapidly. Our journals are receiving more number of interesting papers and after review many articles were already published.

But to be precise we are not upto the mark and demand, lot of back end work is required to improve the standards of the journal, to promote the journal, to create various features in journals etc. As you all may be aware the main working on this journal comprises of less than 10 people and we are in a stage in which we feel that additional support is required.

In this regard we are in need of volunteer support in various form, requesting our authors, supporters to come forward and work with us. A journal needs lot of support while it is growing or the quality of the journals will reduce drasitically, we afraid that should not happen to our journal. Several works which need additional support includes forming templates, conducting review process smoothly, forwarding and replying mails, contacting various authors, promoting our journals in various forms and modes, improving the quality of the journal site, adding and verifying the content, content and technical editing of articles etc.

We solicit volunteers in this regard, already we have about 5-8 volunteers who had offered their service and also few more who had given their consent to support us , we will contact them in right time.

Our aim is to become a high impact factor journal in the earliest possible time, already our journals are added and listed in almost all possible scientific indexes and databases.

Hope with all your support we will bring up this journal to the requested quality in shorter time.

Best regards,

Chief Editor

Prof. Lim Hwee San Joined as Editor of Int.Journal of Geomatics and Geosciences

In the recent updates being done in our editorial board we are receiving many volunteer applications from learned persons across the globe to become our editors. As and when a decision is made we are updating our editorial board, recent addition to our elite panel of editorial board is Prof. Lim Hwee San from Malaysia had joined as Executive Editor of the journal.

Profile:

Lim Hwee San, have been a lecturer in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) after obtaining a PhD degree from USM in 2006. He obtained my B.Sc. from USM in Geophysics in 2001. After receiving my B.Sc. (Hons), He  continued my M.Sc. and PhD under the supervisions of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Zubir Mat Jafri and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khiruddin Abdullah. Finally, He obtained my M.Sc. degree and PhD degree from USM in environmental remote sensing in 2003 and 2006 respectively. His research interests lie generally in the field of optical remote sensing – both passive and active – and digital image processing, particularly as it applies to spectral image data. In both cases, the primary applications are water quality monitoring, air quality monitoring, land cover/change detection, land surface properties and digital images classification. Hs is also interested in modeling of the optical properties of atmospheric aerosols. His current effort focus on the application of satellite based LIDAR (e.g., CALIPSO, AIRS) data for air pollution and green house effects study. He had published more than 320 articles in these areas and also published 5 chapters of book and 4 monographs. He also published 18 articles in the national and international journals and another two is being reviewed. He is a member of International Society for Optical Engineering US. In the research area, He and his research team have been awarded a Bronze Medal at The International Invention Innovation Industrial Design & Technology Exhibition 2003 (ITEX03) for the invention of Environmental Predator. He and his  research team were also awarded a Silver Medal in an Expo Science, Technology & Innovation 2004 (EXPO S&T 2003, MOSTE) for the invention of Real–Time Environmental Sensing. In Expo Science, Technology & Innovation 2004 (EXPO S&T 2004, MOSTI), I and my research team were awarded with Silver Medal for the invention of Multispectral Water Quality Sensor and Bronze Medal for the invention of Real–Time Air Pollution Measurement System. In 2006, the invention of Intelligent Air Pollution Measurements System developed by me and my research team won three awards which is The International Invention Innovation Industrial Design & Technology Exhibition 2006 (ITEX06) with Gold Medal, Special Award of Best Invention of World Intellectual Property Organisation Award (WIPO) and Special Award of Best Invention of Kandiah & Associate Award (KASS). He and his research team were also awarded a Silver Medal in Invention & Innovation Competition 2007, Malaysia Technology Expo 2007 (MTE 2007) for the invention of Multispectral Cell Freshness Detection System. In year 2007, I and my research team were also awarded a Silver Medal in International Exposition of Research and Inventions of Institutions of Higher Learning 2007 (PECIPTA 07) for the invention of FireBuster – A Novel Automatic Fire Detection System. I and my research team were also awarded a Silver Medal in Pameran Eureka 2007, 56th World Exhibition Of Innovation, Research & New Technologies Brussels, Belgium for the invention of AirWarn: Intelligent Air Pollution Measurements System. Currently, He is the Principal Inverstigator (PI) under the 2nd Research Agreement for the Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS) between the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Japan and the Research Organization (Universiti Sains Malaysia – USM) since 2007. Besieds, he is also  the Principal Inverstigator (PI) under the Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the Thailand Earth Observation System (THEOS) between the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organization), Ministry of Science and Technology, Thailand and the Research Organization (Universiti Sains Malaysia – USM) since 2009 and the Principal Inverstigator (PI) under the Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the OCEANSAT-2 between Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), India and the Research Organization (Universiti Sains Malaysia – USM) since 2009. He is particularly intrigued by the use of ALOS data and remote sensing to integrate the understanding of the environmental changes in Malaysia. He is a member of The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) USA and International Society for Potogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

On behalf of Integrated Publishing Association we extend warm welcome to Prof. Lim Hwee San, we hope with his inclusion the journal will take a giant leap towards achievement.
